T security and control firm Sophos has identified a trend of Storm spam e-mail traffic peaking in accordance with time zones across the world. According to their study, the spam e-mail traffic peaked thrice in any 24-hour cycle while computers in Beijing, London and New York come online.

The latest information on phishing indicates that fraudsters are increasingly using malicious software to direct users to their deceptive sites. The Anti-Phishing Working Group (APWG) said in a new report Thursday that it saw a sharp rise in November in malware that directs users to DNS (Domain Name System) servers controlled by phishers.

Spam has risen for the sixth quarter in a row, with 96.4% of all e-mail now spam, says network monitoring firm Ipswitch.
